When talking about how to build a home theater system, there are no always 100% fool-proof guidelines, and no perfect yielding steps to follow. Information regarding the dynamics of a home theater system would be one’s best tool in answering the how to build a home theater question.

Basically, what makes a home theater setup different from a regular television set is its surround sound speaker setup. In answering how to build a home theater, one simply has to setup a surround speaker system around a display screen, be it a regular television set, or a high definition plasma screen. Of course, a room’s acoustic elements have to be considered, and an understanding on how a surround speaker system works would be necessary in setting one up.

As its name already implies, a surround speaker system is a sound system which surrounds a defined area with sound, bombarding listeners’ to a moving sound experience. They are ideal compliments to wide display screens, emulating the sound quality of a movie theater.

Most consumer electronic home theater system manufacturers produce home theater systems in 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 surround sound speaker/receiver packages.

By understanding how these home theater packages work, one could successfully deal with how to build a home theater system.

A 5.1 surround speaker system, is one speaker package made up of 6 speakers; three front speakers, two side/back speakers, and a subwoofer. The .1 figure refers to the presence of a subwoofer channel, a low frequency channel ideal for bass boosts, while the figure preceding it refers to the number of speakers in the speaker package. A 6.1 surround sound speaker setup comes with an extra center front speaker, along with the same speaker setup of a 5.1 surround sound speaker setup. 7.1 surround sound speaker setups come with two center speakers, two back speakers, three front speakers and a subwoofer.

The principle behind surround sound speakers is simple, utilizing an audio channel/receiver mixer in controlling the output sounds coming out from the speakers. When certain noise which are right inclined are played out, the right front, and back, including center right, if talking about 7.1 surround sound setups, speakers play the sound, giving an overall surround sound effect. If the noise is left oriented, the left side positioned speakers would sound out.

With an understanding of surround sound speaker setups, answering the how to build a home theater question would come easy. Other elements like widescreen displays, and adequate ambient lighting would be more of a budget to home theater quality issue, and not a how to build a home theater issue.

By installing and implementing the very thing that defines a home theater system from a regular television set, one has already done a how to build a home theater excursion.

Technology is truly noteworthy. Items which are too bulky to carry before can now fit your pocket, bag or purse. This expressive change is mainly because of man’s never ending search for convenience and entertainment. Likewise, due to man’s fascination to save space and fir up everything into one functional area.

One of the greatest invention of man is to innovate the most communal device of home entertainment: the television. Television has gone through a lot of history since its invention in the 1900s. As a matter of fact, television technology has greatly evolved through out the years. From black and white and very large, televisions these days are made to look flat, digital and even 3D!

People today now prefer flat screens over the conventional type as it is more practical and the features are quite advance. But because of the numerous choices that are out there, it is decisive you are armed with accurate fact on how to choose the best flat screen television for you and your family’s requirements.

Area: Showing Distance First thing that you have to consider is the area of your room where you want to put your flat screen. Yes, it is wall mounted and will not take up extra space but the distance of your wall to your couch or sofa is also very critical. Although, flat screens can be mounted, it is always convenient to check the dimensions to see if it is too big or too large for your wall corner. It will make you feel uncomfortable while watching because it will astound your eyes and ears.

Which Is Best LCD Or Plasma TV? LCD’s can be viewed in any sizes; small or large screens. Plasma on the other hand is best starting on a 37 inch-screen. Take note of the illumination and the angle requirement of each type. Generally, plasma tvs have 160 degree viewing angle. The viewing angle for LCD TVs however is only 120 degrees. The angle is reasonably important to what picture quality will come out of your chosen flat screen.

Tuner And Connections Issues Expediently all LCDs now have both built-in NTSC and ATSC Tuners. ATSC Tuner is needed to derive over-the-air TV broadcast signals after June 12, 2009. There are also some LCD’s that is what is known as QAM tuner which is required to receive unscrambled HD-Cable programming even without a cable box.

Also, select a flat screen TV unit with at least one HDMI source for the connection HD devices.

TV Pixel And Resolution If you are a person who is especially particular about the screen and picture resolution, then pixel number should be one of your main concerns. Per LCD flat screen there is already a fixed number of pixels or native pixel count. The minimum number of pixel count is 1280×720 (720p) or 1366×768 (768p) which is what you should be looking for. The letter p that you can view after the number connotes to progressive scanning features of the TV. Today, larger LCD TV units have 1280×720 (720p) or 1366×768 (768p) native pixel resolution.

After considering these factors, see if the pricing fits your financial statement. If the performance, resolution, brand and functionality of your chosen LCD or plasma screen are A-OK with you, then the price that comes with it should not be a problem. And besides, there are brands now that are cheap but proven to be of high quality. Seek family or friends’ recommendations. Similarly, read online buying guide. They can help you make the absolute choices. Good luck!

If you look around the Internet, you’ll see TONS of Sony HDR-TD10 reviews. Do you know what 95% of them are? Relentless promotion of a product they’ve never even used, all in the name of making a quick buck. What kind of reviewing is that? My goal for this post is to give you my honest HDR-TD10 Review, without all of the hype. Similarly, my goal for this site is to provide reviews by others who own or have used the product so that you can get an accurate idea of whether this video camera is right for you.

I want to go further than that though. I plan on showing you where to buy the Sony HDR-TD10 (near the end of this article) if you want to get the best deal. And you know what? It’s probably not from where you’d expect. Most sites will send you off to buy it on the Best Buy website, or maybe at Nextag. But the fact is, you’ll be overpaying. I’m going to show you where you can buy it for less. And best of all, it’s probably somewhere that you’ve purchased from before. A site that you’re both familiar with and comfortable with buying from – not some spammy looking sales page with yellow highlighter and fake crossed out prices.

My Complete Sony HDR-TD10 Review

Since I live in Las Vegas and attended the 2011 CES trade show, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Sony HDR-TD10 3D/HD Handycam before it was even released. I’ve been using it for awhile now, and although my general impression is positive, I do have a few complaints. But since this is such a complex device, let’s break this review up into a few different sections.

1)Physical Features

If you compare this handycam to one of those old video cameras from the 90s, it’s tiny and compact. On the other hand, when you compare it to another Sony HD camera like the HDR-CX700V, it’s positively enormous. But then, those other cameras don’t have full 3D like the TD10. The reason for the added size is the fact that the TD10 has side-by-side lenses in the front (see the picture over to the right) that are necessary for capturing a 3D image.

Aside from that, this camcorder is stylish and relatively sleek. It’s got a padded hand strap and a textured surface that’s nice for extended use. I held onto this camera through my daughter’s entire high school basketball game (which went into overtime) and it never hurt my hand.

It’s got a ton of ports on the back, as well as the battery compartment. You’ll also find the switch to jump between 2D and 3D recording on the back.

It’s got an 8.8 cm LCD screen, which is pretty standard for handycams in this price range.

2)Manual Controls

If you’re a handycam novice, you might not use these much. But if you’re an AV geek like me, you’ll want to get down and dirty with them. The upside is that the Sony HDR-TD10 has plenty of options for manual control. The downside is that most of them are unavailable in 3D mode. (What do you expect from a product that is the first of it’s kind though?)

Auto Mode – No complaints. Worked about the same as other Sony cameras from the last few years. The Intelligent Auto controls, which automatically select a scene mode for the user, are even functional during 3D shooting.

Low Light Mode – Lowers the shutter speed to 1/30 of a second, and works well as long as there is some light to work with. It’s not night vision, though, so don’t try to film where it’s pitch black.

Zoom – Best performed using the top-mounted zoom toggle. Other methods were touchy. Up to 10x zoom in 3D mode, and 12x in 2D. Also has an option for extended zoom at 17x. Seemed very steady, even at high zooms. Getting the zoom just where you want it takes a little practice.

Focus – Sony has a great autofocus tracking feature where you tap on a subject in the picture, and the camera then automatically keeps them (or it) in focus no matter where they move. For most people, this will be as advanced as you need to get. However, this feature is not available in 3D mode. To fine-tune 3D focusing, you can use the touchscreen or the control-dial on the front. The touchscreen seemed easier to use, although you can more easily “fine-tune” with the dial on the front.

Other advanced features include Exposure, Aperture, Shutter Speed, White Balance, and advanced Color settings. All of these work in 3D mode, with the exception of Aperture and Shutter Speed.

3)3D Features

Let’s be honest here. The 3D features are the whole reason that you’re interested in this camcorder. And who could blame you! After all, the Sony HDR-TD10 is the first consumer grade camera with a built in 3D/HD lens.

Pros: The 3D feature is simple. No lens calibration. No swapping out lenses. You flip a switch, and you’re in 3D mode. No need for special glasses to watch the video in 3D, although it looks unbelievable if you DO watch it with glasses on a 3D enabled HDTV.

Cons: Less control and versatility in being able to fine-tune settings for advanced users.

Conclusion:

If you’re in the market for a 3D/HD camera that doesn’t require an engineering degree to operate, this is the one. As far as modern handycams go, the Sony HDR-TD10 is a bit bulky. If you don’t plan on using the 3D features, then you might consider opting for a similar camera that isn’t as large. On the other hand, it’s not like the thing weighs 20 pounds. The full weight is only 3 pounds, and it measures out at 6 x 4.1 x 9 inches. The 3D picture is incredible. It’s possible that you’ll never go back to recording in 2D.

Your old big screen CRT television was a top of the line model when you picked it up twelve years ago; you purchased it with a bonus cheque from your very first job out of university. It’s followed you to three different apartments since then, even though it is a brute to move. Now the picture is starting to go and, since your current lease is up at the end of next month, you’re wondering if you actually want to muscle the thing into and out of one more moving truck. You have been looking at the new flat screens out there for a while and you are pretty much convinced that a new HDTV and Blu-Ray player are on the horizon. The only question now is what kind of TV are you planning to buy?

## LCD TV

Liquid Crystal Display or LCD is easily the most widespread television technology on the market today. LCD TVs come in regular or high definition and the engineering allows for wide screen aspect ratio screens, something which was tricky for the CRT TVs of the past. Reasonably priced and readily available the two most generally cited disadvantages of LCD sets are contrast ratio and response time.

## LED TV

An LED or Light Emitting Diode TV is in fact an LCD TV which uses LED technology as opposed to cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) as the light source. These are not as readily available and are more expensive but offer better colour range and higher dynamic contrast and draw less power than standard LCD screens.

## Plasma TV

These large glass screens are composed of small cells of electrically charged ionized gas and boast the best picture and widest viewing angle of any TVs on the market. They are significantly heavier than LCD TVs though. They also draw a lot of power and are susceptible to screen burn-in from static images.

## 3D TV

3D-Ready TVs are typically LED backlit LCD TVs which are capable of operating in either 3D or 2D mode depending on the signal received. The 3D mode requires glasses to enjoy the effect. There are commercial Full 3D (or autostereoscopic) sets under development which will allow 3D images without the need for glasses.

There is no good reason to delay replacing that old CRT TV any further. The new generation flat screen TVs are affordable and provide unbelievable picture fidelity and sound. If you are looking for home theatre services like installation, design and home automation, Ottawa has a variety of outstanding home theatre stores you can choose from. To find a good Ottawa electronic store simply Google ‘Ottawa electronics store’ or ‘Ottawa home theatre’ and check out what comes up. As for your existing brute of a Tv you’ve got now… put it on Craigslist and have someone else come and muscle it out of your apartment.

Are you tired of the fuzzy images coming across your television as you are trying to watch your favorite show or movie? Do you wish you had a bigger display to fill up that empty wall space and provide a greater entertaining experience? Your wishes will come true because we are introducing latest large screen HDTVs from Sharp.

You should consider upgrading your television for a number of reasons. It is embarrassing to entertain and host guests when you have a poor entertainment system. If you enjoy having friends or important people over to your place, save yourself the shame of giving your guests a less than stellar time. With a grander screen with high definition quality, you will keep your guests coming back for more.

When you have had a long day, and it is time to relax on the couch in front of a good show, do not cheat yourself of a full relaxing experience. Your eyes become strained with an unclear picture because it appears fuzzy. A clearer picture will ease your eyes and your brain, allowing you to more fully relax.

It is difficult sometimes to justify paying for entertainment systems. Let your money stretch further by purchasing a high definition television. By buying quality products, you get more for your dollar. A sharper, bigger image is a wise investment and will leave you feeling confident in your purchase.

As you think about upgrading your entertainment, consider the two main types of high definition television displays. LCD televisions are more attractive and sleek while plasma screens are a little more wallet friendly. Either option will give you a clearer picture than the one you have now.

Take note that we are introducing latest large screen HDTVs from Sharp. Be sure to take advantage of this greater entertainment experience. You and your guests will not regret it.

The Sharp LC-46LE820 review and the Sharp LC-52LE810 review will help you make better choices when buying a new television.

When shopping for cheap TVs, it’s very easy to be bombarded with many opinions. The highly competitive consumer based market has been formed to deliver higher standards while constantly lowering costs. It is true though, that you get what you pay for most of the time. Often people buying the cheapest televisions will wind up with technical issues with them. Cheap LCD TVs are susceptible to dead pixel regions, while cheap plasma TVs will often suffer screen burns. While it’s obvious that spending more money will generally assure you the highest quality, a cheap TV can be comparable and hold its own against a pricier model.

There are several reasons that a cheap television is easier on the wallet, and they all aren’t quality related. While foreign companies can also make fairly cheap televisions, they do so by using standardized parts, that are cheaper to manufacture. Other companies can bring you savings by being based in a regional area.

Other manufacturing means such as recycling parts will also lower the costs. Whether it is a cheap Plasma TV, or cheap LCD TV, depending on the methods of manufacturing it can be equal to something more expensive. Another large factor in price is the costs for distribution.

A company more regional can save money from import tax breaks, far less distance for shipping to customers, and local ties with sales companies; this is also why prices on other items that are store brand are a bit cheaper than the widely distributed generic brand product. In these rarer cases deciding on what TV to buy based off only price can be fairly difficult.

There are times when the cheapest television is also the name brand. Giant retail stores often will get returns from customers when their purchased sets have no defects. These are inspected, and released many times as open box sales. Since they are technically used, these prices can be dramatically less. This is also true for display models. Typically at the end of a specific model’s showcasing, the display will also be vastly cheaper than even the same version new in box. Due to bigger brands mass producing, and constantly updating their lines, overstock can occur. This is the main reason for sales. The products need to be moved off the shelves, and only depreciate with time. This is why many big brand names can wind up being cheap TVs in stores.

When you buy a name brand television you are also buying into that companies product history. This is their engineers, their history of defective units, and even their factory warranties. It should be no surprise that in this competitive electronics market, that the price wars are heavy. Getting the cheap TVs out there is the primary goal. Another major factor for this is the manufacturing contracts.

Its important to understand how even the big name brands get their prices down, without sacrificing quality. This is due to manufacturing contracts for customized parts, and cheaper contract renewals for in place systems.

While it is true that expensive TVs will almost always be high quality, cheap TVs can sometimes offer a competitive standards by being from a local company, utilizing recycled parts, tax breaks, and more attention to overall quality control.

At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show or CES, the latest group of plasma and LCD HD televisions coming from Panasonic had been unveiled. If presently you’re undecided which model to get, continue reading. Below is a simple guideline, introducing the latest 42 inch HDTV from Panasonic.

The ST30 is a plasma television capable of playing back 3D movies. It boasts of a speedy 600Hz Sub-field Drive to help keep motion blurs and judders at bay. There are a total of 3 HDMI docks for easy creation of your ideal entertainment hub at home. Hardwiring it to the net is possible, even letting you make HD video calls via Skype.

The S30 is another plasma unit, with features much like the ST30. However, it’s not capable of playing back 3D content. Both plasma televisions have the VIERA Image Viewer feature which enables playback of images and videos in USB- and DLNA-enabled devices like a digital camera, laptop, cellular phone and USB flash drive.

LCD units released by the manufacturer this year come aplenty. Both the D30 and the E30 come with 120Hz screen refresh rate to maintain the sharpness of images, especially fast-moving scenes. Both have support for up to 4 HDMI inputs. But the D30 has 3 USB ports while the E30 has only 2 of it.

Within the E3 is a 60Hz screen refresh rate and PC input capability, so you may have it as a PC monitor. It’s fitted with 4 HDMI docks so you may attach your favorite AV components to it hassle-free. The U30, on the other hand, has a 120Hz screen refresh rate. It’s integrated with as many as 3 HDMI docks.

These Panasonic plasma and LCD HD televisions all got display resolutions of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels. Likewise, all of them come with the innovative VIERA Link feature for easy operation. All it takes is one remote controller, the one used on the TV, to manage all components plugged into the unit.

3D TV No Glasses - If you have bought a 3d TV and are sitting every night with a pair of glasses on your head then you may soon be able to throw them away for good.

3D TV No Glasses – If you have bought a 3d TV and are sitting every night with a pair of glasses on your head then you may soon be able to throw them away for good.

The speed at which television technology is advancing is quite frankly staggering. Just 3 or 4 years back plasma technology lead the way. However, now plasma TVs seem bulky and out of date compared with the latest LCD and led TVs which are flooding the market.

I wanted to test three things. Firstly, whether or not being able to watch a 3D tv with no glasses was just around the corner. Secondly, I wanted an idea of how much we are all going to pay for such a set. Finally, I wanted to find out which 3D TV maker was actually leading the way.

All of the leading makers say that they are close to perfecting the technology required to be able to do away with having to wear glasses in order to enjoy the quality of a 3d TV. However, only LG told us that they were about to launch a firm release date. This goes in hand with recent advances in technology which has resulted in LG consistently launching the newest technology first.

We were unable to get a firm price for just how much we will have to pay to be able to watch a 3d television without putting glasses, but rumours say that a basic 42 inch set should come in at around the 1,000 mark.

Sony may ultimately win the battle when it comes to picture quality but total market domination will probably be secured by LG who appear to have perfected a way of securing the market share.

We feel confident to be able to say that 3d TV watching with no glasses is something which we will all be able to do within the next 12 months.

More coming soon – stay tuned.

Prior to you think of buying a 3d tv, make sure you read our fantastic free reviews on how to watch a 3d tv with no glasses, and 3d television set.

If you’re looking for a television that is going to take you into the future, LCD Samsung TVs are the perfect choice. While they come in a variety of sizes and styles, they also have 2D and 3D TV formats. They also offer standard features, but more extravagant ones like Internet services.

Sizes range anywhere from 19 inches to 65 inches depending on your needs, but the choice will come down to price and preference. However, 3D versions are only available in forty-six inches to fifty-eight inches. When you’re pricing them they could be anywhere from $1500 to $2500.

However, it’s the web browsing on their smart TVs that becoming more attractive to consumers. These televisions provide you with the opportunity to access the Internet on your TV. You can also find applications available with these LCD Samsung TVs. Those who enjoy Netflix, Blockbuster, or even Hulu can take advantage of them right through the TV.

You also can surf the web and check many social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube. This is enabled by a web browser that Samsung has introduced to their line of LCD TVs.

You can also find 3D viewing technology in their line of TVs. So when you watch a movie it will literally feel like you’re in a theater as opposed to home. Since most of the major movie studios are providing new releases and their popular titles in the 3D format, you can enjoy a great 3D movie in the comfort of your own home.

A plus is that Samsung apps are available on 3D TV’s that range in size from forty inches to fifty eight inches, and range in price from eight hundred dollars to twenty-five hundred dollars. These TVs require that you purchase glasses for 3D viewing at an additional cost, and you will need a pair for each person that will be watching TV in 3D. The 3D TVs can be viewed in standard 2D as well.

So if you’re in need of a new television then the LCD Samsung TVs will be a great choice. The 2D and 3D options will really come down to preference, but Samsung has plenty of models you can choose from with various price ranges.

One of the most important factors is being able to find something that fits into your budget. Thanks to all the LCD Samsung TVs available we know you will come across something that will satisfy your viewing needs.

Finding a discounted Samsung LCD TV can be tricky business, especially when there are so many high street stores claiming to sell at rock bottom prices. If you’re in the market for an LCD Samsung TV then check out the links here to compare prices and save hundreds!
